You may have noticed that the layout of the blog has changed. My apologies if the new look doesn't meet your aesthetic standards, I tried to keep it as simple as possible. It's a shame, because I really liked the old layout. Clean and distinctly kitsch-free. However, the Dynamic View setting I was using did not have any way for people to follow this here blog. Looks cool, but is impractical. My dream is that I'll be able to go back to it once the follow feature is supported.
I've been writing here steadily for three months, so it looks like this thing might stick for a while (although I still loathe the word "blog" especially when used as a verb - "blogging" -gross). I'd really appreciate it, if you like what you see here (or if you don't like what you see but have a masochistic streak), if you would click the little "follow this blog" button there on the right. It will do two things, one for you and one for me.
For you it will let you know when I post so you don't have to keep checking all day to see if I wrote something (I know you do!). For me it will tell me who is actually reading what I'm writing. This will also help me adjust the amount of "shits" and "fucks" to my audience's level of expectation and tolerance. Right now I'm flying blind. So be a sport and click the button. I want to improve the product and your experience of our strange adventure. And don't worry, I won't consider you a "follower" in the negative sense. Other people might think you're a sheep, and I might consider you a sheep for completely different reasons, but clicking that button will never be one of them.
It must be due to some kind of computer malfunction, but the counter on this thing shows that this blog has received nearly 1400 views since I started -most of which have occurred in the last 45 days or so. I understand that blogs considered "popular" get that many hits and many times more per day; but still, it's pretty amazing that people have been curious enough to check it out, or interested enough in what they found to check back. So thank you for that. As long as that number of views keeps rising, I'll keep writing. It's pretty cool that what started as the occasional emailed short story to my father has developed into this. I'm pretty proud of what's collected here. Although the charge I get from setting a new personal best in number of views per day is still totally pathetic.
So click the button! Do it now, while you're thinking about it! Don't wait! It'll be our little secret. No one has to know about it but us.
Thanks,
J
